    How to ship an order

Ship an order by hand with the Ship button, or let the shipping process ship it when packing closes, and follow it through the carrier to Delivered.

A shipment is the step that takes stock out of the warehouse and closes the outbound flow. Whether you do it by hand depends on how the shipping process is configured.

    Automatic, or by hand

Every shipping process carries a Ship automatically after packing closure option (see How to Configure an Shipping Process?).

    • On — the order ships by itself the moment packing closes, and there is nothing more for you to do.
    • Off — the order stops at the Executed status and waits for someone to ship it.

    Shipping an order

    1. Open the Shipping Orders list and find the order in the Executed status.
    2. Use the Ship button.

To clear several at once, select the orders in the Executed status in the list and use Ship Selected.

Shipping removes the stock that fulfilled the order from warehouse stock, and issues the invoice if you have an invoicing integration.

    When a carrier is involved

An order sent through a carrier with tracking enabled — NACEX or Correios Express, for example — moves to In Shipping instead of going straight to Delivered, and becomes Delivered once the carrier confirms the delivery. You can follow the delivery status and download the label from the Shipping Orders list.

    • A carrier set to communicate automatically receives the tracking request at dispatch.
    • A carrier set to communicate manually does not: use the Submit to Carrier button on the order. Until you do, it will not reach Delivered on its own.
    • A carrier without automatic tracking moves the order straight to Delivered at dispatch.

When you close packing on an order that uses an automatic carrier plugin, Confirm with carrier label finishes the shipment in one click instead of confirming it manually.

    When the carrier never confirms

A commercial, supervisor or admin profile can mark an order Delivered by hand from the Shipping Orders list. That covers the cases where the carrier does not update the status on its own, or the delivery was confirmed through another channel.

Every status in the flow is described in Shipping Order Status.
