What logistical traceability means, why it matters to businesses, customers and regulators, and how to check a product or batch's movements.
The concept of logistical traceability refers to the ability to identify the origin and the different stages a product passes through across the entire production process, as well as its subsequent logistical distribution until it reaches the end consumer.
Therefore, a traceability system encompasses a set of processes that make it possible to monitor a product's location in the supply chain at any given moment, as well as trace its path or predict the route it will follow.
Advantages:
- For companies: helps identify critical points along the supply chain, so incidents can be resolved and productivity and quality improved.
- For consumers: builds confidence when buying products and services, and is a key factor for e-commerce businesses in particular, since it reduces uncertainty in online purchases.
- For regulators: in public-health sectors such as pharmaceuticals and food, traceability systems are mandatory and have been tightly regulated for years.
How to check the movements of a product/batch?

Go to the Products menu, available in the side menu, under Entities.

Click View on the row of the product you want to check.

Go to the Stock tab.

Go to the Movements tab.
