    Put-to-Wall

    What is Put-to-Wall?

Put-to-Wall is an order consolidation system, very popular in B2C e-commerce, that uses a vertical structure of compartments (the "wall"). Each compartment represents an individual customer's order.

    Workflow

    Batch Picking

Operators pick large quantities of products in the warehouse (e.g., 50 t-shirts of various sizes).

    Wall Sorting

At the Put-to-Wall station, the operator scans each item and a light turns on at the compartment corresponding to that customer's order.

    Completion

When all items for an order are in the compartment, a light on the opposite side of the wall signals the Packing operator that the order is complete and ready to be packed and shipped.
